Info olive wood
Our olive wood products are made from the most natural olive wood on a family farm in Italy. The olive wood is several hundred years old and is made from quality olive trees. These olive trees are no longer needed for olive production.
The olive tree is a typical representative of the Mediterranean flora and an important cultivated and useful plant in the Mediterranean region. Our products are aesthetic and practical. The properties of olive wood give our products a unique honey-yellow color that radiates its own individuality.
The olive wood has to be dried out for several years before processing and is then processed by hand. At Olimate we offer quality kitchen products and utensils made from olive wood. The hand processing creates individual shapes and patterns in the olive wood. Our olive wood products differ in grain and are unique. This magnificent type of wood is aesthetic and durable. Each product features rustic finishes and traditional Italian craftsmanship. Olimate offers a wide range of olive wood kitchen utensils such as B. Asian chopsticks, rice spoons, cutting boards, wooden spoons, spatulas, tongs, pepper mills. Get a piece of nature for your kitchen and your favorite food.
Our Olimate olive wood products are completely natural and not chemically processed. Exceptions are noted in the item description. Our products contain a protective oil content that protects against the dehydration process and bacterial attack. It is also recommended to occasionally oil the utensils. A cloth with a little cooking oil (e.g. olive oil) is enough to rub the utensils with it and thus protect it better. This protective oily layer enhances the hue of the honey-colored grain of our products.
Olive wood has established itself through its excellent degree of hardness, which is approx. 60% higher than the degree of hardness of European oak. Therefore it is ideally perfect for use in the kitchen such as B. chopsticks, cutting boards.
The exceptional benefits of olive wood make it a steadfast utility and ornament in the kitchen and as a table accessory for enthusiasts of these beautiful natural products.
All of our product images are unique and exemplary. This means that each product is characterized by the grain and individual growth of the wood and is therefore unique. Cracked items will be sorted out by us before shipping. Small cracks, for example caused by temperature fluctuations or adhesions in the olive wood, can occur naturally and often account for the unique, unmistakable character of the olive wood product. Minor damage, e.g. cracks, are not critical and do not restrict the daily use of our products.
